A small beginning. A clear idea.

Corthex.

Started with curiosity.
Built to be helpful.

From a personal chatbot project to an extra pair of hands on your website. This is the story of Corthex, and the person behind the mascot.

There’s a story behind that smile

Why we’re building this

A website is digital.
Good help feels human.

In a shop, someone helps you choose, explains a detail or finds a colleague. On a website, you’re often on your own. We think that help should feel just as natural there.

01 / From Botforger to Corthex

It started with: ‘this should be simpler.’

A small beginning. Enough curiosity to keep building.
  1. The first idea

    A chatbot, without the detour.

Botforger started as a BYOK platform: bring your own key. You brought your own AI key and could easily create a chatbot for your website. A small, accessible beginning, built because I enjoyed making something useful.

  2. People started using it

    More visitors. More to support.

The AI key belonged to the user, but I paid for the infrastructure myself. At first, that was fine. As usage grew, so did the costs: a database for secure storage and bot configuration, hosting on Vercel and later Redis. The project needed a stronger foundation.

  3. The next step

    Room to go further.

I wanted to grow. Beyond making bots, I wanted to help websites with questions, product choices and customer service. Botforger evolved into Corthex: company knowledge, conversations in one place and a route to real people.

  4. What we’re building now

Still a passion project. With a bigger purpose.

The reason to build hasn’t changed: make something people actually find useful. New features start with a conversation that could be better, a visitor who gets stuck or a team that could get some time back.

02 / How help should feel

You know the chatbot that doesn’t understand you.

The same question again. An answer that misses the point. And when you need a person, the conversation goes nowhere. We want Corthex to make that experience better.

The Corthex mascot patiently helps a visitor choose in a warm, small shop.
The feeling of a helpful shop colleague. Even when your shop is a website.
  1. 01

    Understand first.

Respond to the question and its context. Ask a focused follow-up when something is missing, rather than making visitors start again.

  2. 02

Know where the answer comes from.

Your knowledge, product information and policies form the foundation. When something is missing, the assistant should be honest about it.

  3. 03

    Keep people within reach.

Some questions need a person on your team. A handoff should move the conversation forward, with the context already collected.

A small example

The question changes. The care stays.

I need something for outdoors. What should I look for?

CorthexStart with the material and maintenance. I can compare the suitable options in the range with you.

Understanding products

Illustrative conversations. Your own knowledge, settings and team availability determine actual answers and handoffs.

03 / What makes it worthwhile

Less repetition. More time for people.

When everyday questions are taken care of, a team gets room to breathe. A reviewed website/store example shows what that can look like.

estimated hours of manual handling avoided
51hrs
conversations without human handoff
90.8%

One example over 30 days. Time saved is an estimate; a conversation without handoff does not establish resolution or visitor satisfaction.

Where do these numbers come from?

1,227 verified exchanges × 2.5 minutes of assumed manual handling ≈ 51 hours.

482 conversations without handoff, out of 531 measured conversations ≈ 90.8%.

Measurement period: – (Europe/Amsterdam).

04 / The person behind the mascot

Hi, I’m Jaymian-Lee.

Founder & maker of Corthex · Limburg, the Netherlands

I’m Jaymian-Lee Reinartz, a full-stack developer from Limburg. I build software, work on ecommerce and enjoy experimenting with AI. What interests me most is the moment technology makes something easier for someone.

Corthex brings those interests together. Working with online stores shows me how varied visitors’ questions can be: from a product detail to help with the next step. That’s where I want to build something useful.

Botforger started with that curiosity. Corthex is my way of continuing to build, with care for visitors and for the people behind their websites.

The story is still being written

A small beginning.
More to build together.

Corthex keeps growing from real questions and ideas from the people using it. Curious what an extra pair of hands could do for your website?
