Step by step

  1. 1

    Review event categories

Enable the support events you are responsible for. Staff requests, contact submissions and connected-channel messages can have different alert behavior.

  2. 2

    Choose the chime

Use the offered sound selector and play a test. Select a sound you can recognise without relying on maximum volume.

  3. 3

    Test routing too

Verify the Notification speaker setting on this device. Changing a chime does not necessarily change the output speaker.

  4. 4

    Run a realistic test

Create the event in a visitor or connected-channel test account and check the visual alert, browser banner and sound independently.

Good to know

Routine conversations do not add to the browser tab's staff-request counter. Opening a staff request acknowledges its alert and clears that unread request from the tab count.

Check the result

Use the test controls on the actual computer and speaker you work with. Test a relevant new staff request with Corthex in another tab.

Questions & troubleshooting

A sound plays in one browser only

Speaker choice and browser permission are local. Review settings in the browser used during your shift.
