Repair an integration without losing track of its scope
Use status, permissions and a small test to isolate connection failures.
Before you begin
Open workspace Settings and select Connections or Messaging as appropriate. Use an account authorised to connect the external business or store.
Step by step
- 1
Identify what failed
Distinguish authorisation, incoming delivery, outgoing delivery and AI tool access. Record the time and exact error without copying secrets.
- 2
Check the external account
Confirm the credential is valid and the account still has access to the same store/business assets.
- 3
Check local assignment
Verify the connection belongs to this workspace and the intended agent is allowed to use it.
- 4
Run the smallest test
Try one known text message or product query. Add media or advanced actions only after the basic path works.
- 5
Reconnect if required
Follow the integration’s reconnect/re-authorise controls. Review assignments and permissions again after reconnection.
Good to know
Disconnecting can affect every agent that uses the shared connection. Check those dependencies before changing credentials.
Check the result
Verify the connection status, correct agent assignment and one complete test in the external channel. External permissions and delivery rules still apply.
Questions & troubleshooting
Should I put the credential into the system prompt?
No. Use the supported connection settings. Prompts and public screenshots are not secret storage.
