Reuse a workflow from another workflow
Keep a shared support sequence in one published flow and call it from an eligible path.
Before you begin
Open Workflows in the workspace navigation. Decide which event should start the flow and which agents should receive it. Start with an unpublished draft.
Step by step
- 1
Create the shared flow
Use the reusable starting option offered by the builder. Give it a name that describes the common task and configure its steps.
- 2
Publish the target
Review and publish the reusable flow. A draft target cannot supply a live reusable sequence.
- 3
Add the call at the path’s end
Select the supported call-workflow action and choose the enabled, published reusable target. The builder validates the placement of call and stop actions.
- 4
Align assignments
Assign the reusable flow to every agent that can call it, then save assignments.
- 5
Test the full chain
Run a test from the caller and inspect the result. Reusable references use the target’s current live version, so retest callers after publishing a shared change.
Good to know
A reusable flow does not start independently from an ordinary website event. Avoid circular dependencies and keep the shared sequence understandable.
Check the result
Test matching, non-matching and missing-data cases. Review the publication, publish the steps and save the intended agent assignments.
Questions & troubleshooting
The target is not selectable
Check that it is enabled, published, configured as reusable and assigned to the calling agents.
