Choose a workflow trigger

Use the right event so your conditions have the context they need.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Identify when the decision matters

Choose between the supported website, conversation or other events shown by the builder. A page event happens at a different moment from a customer message.

  2. 2

    Inspect the available fields

Use fields relevant to that trigger. Message topics cannot be reliably evaluated before a visitor has provided a message.

  3. 3

    Set timing and repeat rules

Where offered, configure delay, frequency and visit/session conditions so the invitation is not shown on every minor interaction.

  4. 4

    Test the real event

Use the test panel for logic, then cause the actual event in the installed messenger. A simulated trigger does not prove website delivery.

Good to know

Browser-based events depend on the embedded messenger being active. They do not run as server background timers after a visitor has left.

Check the result

Test matching, non-matching and missing-data cases. Review the publication, publish the steps and save the intended agent assignments.

Questions & troubleshooting

The trigger never fires on WhatsApp

Website page/launcher events need the website messenger. Use a channel-supported conversation event instead.
