Use the visual workflow builder

Build, navigate and test clear paths on the Corthex workflow canvas.

Before you begin

Open Workflows in the workspace navigation. Decide which event should start the flow and which agents should receive it. Start with an unpublished draft.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Configure the start

Select the START block to choose the event, audience conditions, repeat rules, schedule and assigned agents. Saving agent assignments changes the scope of an existing publication; content stays a draft until published.

  2. 2

    Read the branches in order

The central Branches block checks conditions from top to bottom. The first matching branch runs its corresponding lettered path. ELSE handles the case where no branch matches. Use a path menu to change priority.

  3. 3

    Add and edit steps

Choose Add step inside a path and search the action library. Edit invitation text, AI instructions and internal notes directly on the canvas. Select a step to open all its settings. AI guidance is not an exact-message delivery action.

  4. 4

    Organize your paths

Open a path or step menu to duplicate, reorder or delete it. Move to path transfers an existing action to another path. If this leaves a required path empty, add a step before saving. The last conditional path cannot be deleted; ELSE remains the fixed fallback.

  5. 5

    Navigate the canvas

Use the hand tool or hold Space and drag. Zoom with the bottom controls, pinch, or Ctrl/Cmd plus/minus while the canvas has focus. Fit workflow shows the entire flow. Tidy up expands paths and fits their automatic layout; node coordinates are not stored as routing rules.

  6. 6

    Find a path

Open List of paths, search its name and select it to center that path and open its settings. Warning icons identify invalid paths. The arrows between blocks also navigate directly to their destination; branch conditions determine the connections.

  7. 7

    Save, preview and publish

Save changes retains the draft. Preview opens the test panel for a synthetic scenario and execution/visitor preview, without sending a real customer message. Review errors and publication details before publishing. More contains export, duplication, version history and pause/resume controls.

Good to know

This builder represents Corthex's ordered conditions and actions. It does not create arbitrary graph connections, durable wait jobs or unsupported channel actions.

Use Undo/Redo for draft edits. Collapsing, zoom and canvas navigation do not change the published workflow. Existing saves retain revision-conflict protection.

Check the result

Test matching, non-matching and missing-data cases. Review the publication, publish the steps and save the intended agent assignments.

Questions & troubleshooting

I cannot see the step settings

Select a block or use Settings in the canvas. On smaller screens, switch between Canvas and Step settings. Close the settings panel to regain the full canvas.

My paths overlap

The canvas measures content and lays paths out automatically. Choose Tidy up canvas or Fit workflow after editing a large flow. Collapse long paths to focus on a smaller part of the workflow.
