Step by step

  1. 1

    Check the selected model

Open the model selector and its adjacent usage information. No recorded usage can simply mean that model has not been used in the current billing period.

  2. 2

    Check the period

Compare the same billing window and workspace in usage/billing. Switching models does not move historical usage to the new model.

  3. 3

    Compare workload

Longer instructions, history, sources and generated output can change consumption even when the message count is similar.

  4. 4

    Investigate a change

Review the actual model and tasks used, including AI workflow decisions where applicable. Use the live plan and usage controls for current limits.

Good to know

Model availability, pricing and credit rules can change. The live billing and model UI is authoritative for your workspace; screenshots are illustrative.

Check the result

Compare the same scope and period before drawing conclusions. Investigate real conversations and sources alongside aggregate metrics.

Questions & troubleshooting

Why is usage not equal to the number of chats?

Chats can contain different amounts of input/output and multiple model operations. They are different units.
