Check an answer and its sources
Distinguish a plausible-sounding answer from one that is actually supported by your business material.
Before you begin
Open AI agents and select the agent you want to edit. Check its name and workspace before saving: other agents have their own settings.
Step by step
- 1
Ask a precise question
Choose a question with an answer you can find in one approved source. Include enough context to distinguish similar products or policies.
- 2
Inspect the source references
Open the answer’s source disclosure where available. Check whether the referenced material actually states the claimed fact.
- 3
Test an exception
Ask about a case the sources do not cover. The assistant should acknowledge the gap rather than invent a policy.
- 4
Fix the source or behavior
Update contradictory or outdated sources, refine the prompt when needed and repeat the same test after processing.
Good to know
A citation identifies supporting material; it is not independent proof that every sentence is correct. Staff should still review consequential advice.
Check the result
Save, start a fresh test conversation and compare the answer with your approved business facts. Settings do not rewrite messages already sent.
