Step by step

  1. 1

    Open your staff profile

Check the current workspace/account and find the Staff chat profile section.

  2. 2

    Set a recognisable display name

Use the name your customers and teammates should recognise. This is separate from the agent’s public Display Name.

  3. 3

    Upload an avatar

Use the supported image uploader and follow its file type and size feedback. Choose a clear image that remains recognisable at small sizes.

  4. 4

    Save and verify

Wait for success, then check a new staff reply in a test conversation. Existing messages can retain the profile context recorded when they were sent.

Good to know

Staff branding and bot branding are separate. Changing your avatar does not change the messenger’s bot icon or launcher design.

Check the result

Confirm the saved change in the correct workspace. For payments or plan changes, review the actual confirmation and invoice in the billing portal.

Questions & troubleshooting

The visitor still sees the bot name

Confirm you are looking at a staff reply after takeover rather than an AI reply or the widget header.
