Configure live website lookup
Use supported public-site lookup as a fallback while keeping approved Knowledge current.
Before you begin
Open AI agents and select the agent you want to edit. Check its name and workspace before saving: other agents have their own settings.
Step by step
- 1
Check the supported control
Open the agent’s Features page and inspect live site lookup. This controls a capability, not a replacement knowledge upload.
- 2
Enable deliberately
Allow the capability if public website information is an appropriate fallback for this agent. Save the setting and review other tool restrictions.
- 3
Test a public fact
Ask about a current accessible page and inspect the answer’s evidence. Also test a missing page and content behind a login wall.
- 4
Keep important facts curated
Maintain approved policies in Knowledge. If a business-critical answer relies on a website change, verify the source and result directly.
Good to know
Public lookup cannot reliably read private accounts, blocked pages or every JavaScript-only site. It should not invent an answer when access fails.
Check the result
Save, start a fresh test conversation and compare the answer with your approved business facts. Settings do not rewrite messages already sent.
Questions & troubleshooting
The website is reachable but the answer fails
Check the exact page, public accessibility, enabled tool and any workflow restriction. Use an approved text/document source when needed.
