Step by step

  1. 1

    Choose a supported mode

Use the embed attributes and launcher API documented in the developer reference. Inline chat needs a deliberate container in your layout.

  2. 2

    Keep the agent identity correct

Use the same intended bot ID and avoid creating two competing installations on one page.

  3. 3

    Connect the custom control

Wire the website button to the documented open behavior. Keep it keyboard accessible and give it a meaningful accessible name.

  4. 4

    Test each state

Check open, close, page navigation, mobile dimensions and an existing conversation. Inline/custom modes do not use the standard floating reply-preview stack.

Good to know

Use the Widget embed and appearance reference in this Help Center for exact script attributes. Do not guess an unsupported global function from another provider’s snippet.

Check the result

Publish the website change, open the public page, send a test question and verify the correct conversation appears in the correct Corthex workspace.

Questions & troubleshooting

A custom button opens the wrong view

Check the documented default-view/launcher options and whether an existing visitor session is being resumed.
